The astronomer's quest: Infinity,
The biologist's quest: Structure,
The composer's quest: Variety,
The mystic's quest: Essence.

"It is my deep belief that our highest
longings all spring from the same source."
                                                    —Myrrh

Left: In the Beginning was Logos, 1975, batik with embroidery in center, 6 feet square. After hanging for five years in a Quaker meeting house in Palo Alto, it faded.

Right: Quest, 1986, watercolor with incised white lines, 28 inches square. Upon much reflection, Myrrh deemed the white design too rigid to suit the subject. Notice that the pattern in the newest version is more fluid.
This work toured the U.S. with "Art and the Cosmos," an exhibit seen at four museums, including Hayden Planetarium in 1994-5.
