Essential Mysteries

The "Essential Mysteries" paintings are a series that continues. . .

Death Teems with Life
Our material bodies are part of a great
cycle of death and regeneration.

  abstract painting about interconnectedness

Intertwingled
Imagine! Oxygen from small bacteria changes
Earth's huge climate. In this and many other
ways, everything is linked in complicated ways.
An explosion
Catastrophe
The "perfect storm" is fortunately rather rare. Yet, to believe that synchrony and tranquility are the norm is an illusion. Statistically there is no way to know whether the next storm or earthquake will be the severe one. Myrrh painted this after 9/11.
Inside a watery circle, a circle of calm
The paintings in this series are executed in translucent acrylic paints on 1/8 inch thick circular sheets of plexiglas. They are 45" wide, and lit from behind for a striking, stained-glass-like effect.
